GARDEN TOURS:
10:30 AM - Garden of Grace McManus, 5 Forest St., Stoneham, MA

11:30 AM - Garden of Cindy Tarquinio, 97 Oak St., Stoneham, MA

12:30 PM - Gardens at Whip Hill and Lunch, 1 Whip Hill Rd., Stoneham, MA

The first 2 gardens are home gardens containing Iris and other plants. Once you park your car, you can walk from garden to garden. They are about 3 houses away from each other. See directions below.

Whip Hill is a 30-acre conservation area that was donated to the Town by its former owner. It contains, an English Tudor home, a brick-walled formal garden, which will be open for viewing and hiking trails.

A light lunch of salads, sandwiches and desserts will be served on the patio. Please bring something to drink. The house will be open for use of the bathroom facilities and lunch if it rains.

JUDGES' TRAINING:
2:30 - 4:30 PM - After the tour, there will be a 2 hour Judges' Training in Jan Sacks and Marty Schafer's Joe Pye Weed's Garden, 337 Acton St., Carlisle, MA. Start time is approximately 2:30 PM. Training will include one hour on Beardeds and one hour on Siberians. Everyone is invited, whether you are a judge, student, or just interested in learning more about irises.

DIRECTIONS:

Directions to Grace and Cindy's houses:
The best way is to use Rt.128/95. Regardless of whether you come from the north or the south, the directions are the same.
- Take Exit 38 South (Stoneham and Medford) off of Rt. 128/95. There is only one direction as you get off the ramp.
- Follow to first stop light (about 1000 ft.)
- Take a right on North St., follow it for about 1/4 mile
- Take a left on Forest St. If you see Erickson St. on your right, you have gone too far. Make a U-turn, go past 2 houses, and take a direct right. Grace's house will have an Iris flag out front. You will be directed as to where to park.

Directions to Whip Hill:
- Go back to and take a right on Rt. 28 (Main St.). Follow Main St. through to the 6th traffic light. This will be Stoneham Square.
- Take a left (across from the Stoneham Theatre and next to Doucette Remodeling) onto Franklin St. Follow Franklin past the High School, to the next flashing light.
- Take a RIGHT onto Perkins St. Follow to right on Whip Hill Road. Whip Hill Road is a very small street. Look for Martin Louis Way on the right hand side of the street which 3 house before Whip Hill Rd and slow down! (If you see Jeff Terrace, you have passed Whip Hill Rd.) There will be someone to direct you to park.

Directions to Joe Pye Weed's Garden (Schafer/Sacks) from Stoneham - 337 Acton St., Carlisle, MA - (978-371-0173):
Find your way back to Rt. 128/95 (easiest route is Left on to Perkins, Left on to Franklin. Franklin ends at Main St. Take a right and follow to 128/95 signs). Continue on 128/95 until Exit 31B. This is Route 225. Follow Route 225 through Bedford for 2.8 miles. Follow 225 as it takes a left jog at a triangle. Continue on 225 for 4.1 miles. At the traffic circle in Carlisle Center continue on 225 out of the circle. After 2 more miles turn left on Acton St. Go about .7 miles and you will be at Rt. 337. Continue to the next left and park on Koning Farm Rd.
